Financial Data Submission and Reconciliation (FDSR) system Overview

Overview

The Financial Data Submission and Reconciliation (FDSR) System aims to provide officials of academic institutions with the capability to electronically transmit their annual financial data to the three federal granting agencies (CIHR, NSERC and SSHRC) by means of a single Web-enabled interface. Another goal is to make the internal approval, submission, and consolidation of financial data easier and more time- and cost-effective for researchers and business officers (BOs). The FDSR system:

  • improves services to academic institution administrators;
  • improves efficiency both at universities and at NSERC;
  • facilitates the sharing of information between organizations; and
  • increases control and reduce the risks of error involved in manual processes.
