Launch of Tri-agency EDI Action Plan

The Tri-Agency Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Action Plan, developed by Canada’s granting agencies under the leadership of the Canada Research Coordinating Committee, was officially released. This plan outlines actions needed to increase fair access to research support and to promote equitable participation in the research system.

NSERC 2030: A Strategic Plan

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) is embarking on the development of a new strategic plan, NSERC 2030, which will reflect Canada's priorities for the funding of natural sciences and engineering over the next decade.

Extension of PromoScience grants due to COVID-19

NSERC recognizes that some activities funded by PromoScience grants may be delayed due to continued school closures and imposed restrictions on gatherings. New US-Canada partnership announced for collaboration in research and innovation

NSERC and the US National Science Foundation (NSF) announced the first formal partnership between the agencies, which support fundamental discovery research in the US and Canada.


NSERC announces inaugural competition for McDonald Fellowships

NSERC is launching its first ever competition for the rebranded Arthur B. McDonald Fellowships, which support top-flight early stage researchers. The grants were formerly known as E.W.R. Steacie Memorial Fellowships.
